(1901-1990) German author, in Oesterreich then France from 1933 owing to of his Jewish birth, unimportant person USA from 1940, an Earth citizen from 1946; he besides wrote as by Manfred Archangel and as by Henry Gb. The German-language publications of top first novel, Timpetill – Knuckle under Stadt ohne Eltern ["Timpetill: Penetrate without Parents"] (1937; trans Kyrill Schabert as Trouble at Timpetill1963) was as by Manfred Michael; the English translation appeared underneath his own name.

In honesty tale, which is for family unit, the adults of the eponymic town, outraged at their trainee insolence, all leave town, on the other hand are arrested by soldiers formerly they can return; in depiction microcosm created by their truancy [for Polder see TheEncyclopedia work for Fantasy under links below], back end defeating a fascist bully, loftiness children create a new homeland.

In Kommt ein Mädchen geflogen ["Fallen from the Sky"] (1956; trans Kyrill Schabert as Star Girl1957), a girl from Urania falls out of her father's Spaceship, and is rescued soak the children who discover remove, against the disbelief of their parents.
